What private schools ask us.
Can parents book a visit or an open day place online?
Yes. Parents choose a time for a visit, or a place at an open day, from your website, and get a reminder a day and an hour before.
Can parents apply for brothers and sisters together, and is there a sibling discount?
Yes. Parents add each child to the same application, and you can set a sibling discount for each intake, for example 10% from the second child.
How are children placed in a year group, and what about Reception?
A rule suggests a year group from the child’s age on 1 September, the British curriculum cut-off, from Reception upwards. Your team confirms it before an offer, and a child with special educational needs (SEN) can be flagged for a placement review first.
How do waitlists work when a class is full?
Each class has its own places. When a class is full, new applicants join its waitlist in order, automatically or when your team chooses, and each family can receive a waitlist letter.
Can we run entrance assessments and interviews, and charge for them?
Yes. Parents book an entrance assessment or interview from your schedule, in person or online, and you can charge an assessment fee first. Reviewers rate every child against the same criteria.
How do bursaries work?
Families apply for a bursary through its own form, with the financial need questions you choose. Your award panel scores each application, and the award letter is issued from the record.
Can children join mid-year?
Yes. You can keep more than one intake open at a time, each with its own dates, so a family can apply for this term while next year’s intake is open.
Does it work with our school management system?
Syncing enrolled children to your school management system is available on request, and Moodle sync is coming soon. You can also bring applicants and alumni in from a spreadsheet.
